The new website includes both Mike Ditka Resorts properties, Mike Ditka Resorts – Runaway Beach Club and Mike Ditka Resorts – Lighthouse Key Resort and Spa. The website features a great new look, including a clean and simple design, and will improve functionality through reorganization of content on the site and improved navigation to help with usability.
The site has made use of current website technology to display different types of information including rotating banners of current happenings and specials at the Resort, as well as rotating images of the Resort and its amenities.
Overall, the newly redesigned website’s navigational tools, updated graphics and layouts, new fonts, and use of current technology will help user’s access information about each Resort more quickly and effortlessly, which will in turn continue to improve customer satisfaction.

NFL’s 100 Greatest Players of All Time
The NFL recently compiled a list of the 100 Greatest Players that have played in the NFL and Mike Ditka ranked in at number 59, while fans have ranked him at number 55! Mike Ditka played tight end during his 12 season career in the NFL, where he played in 158 games. Ditka was feared as both a receiver and blocker and was the first tight end to be inducted into the Hall of Fame! Ditka was most known for his time with the Chicago Bears, where he ended his career with 427 catches for 5,812 yards and 43 touch downs.

After 5 games into the Chicago Bears NFL season, they are currently ranked #1 in the NFC North. They have won four of the five games they have played this year, with their only loss being to the New York Giants. The Bears next game will be against the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday.

International Food and Wine festival
The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is a special fall event that transforms Epcot Theme Park into a food and wine lover's paradise. The festival offers specialty food items, culinary events, sophisticated parties and live musical entertainment starting on October 1st and running through November 14th.

Mike Ditka Resorts held its annual “Dinner with Ditka” event at the Ditka Restaurant in Oakbrook, on September 8th, 2010. Contest winners enjoyed a relaxing and entertaining evening of dinner, drinks, and conversation with Hall of Famer and former NFL Coach of the 1985 Super Bowl Champions, the Chicago Bears, Coach Mike Ditka.
Guests were treated to a wonderful four course meal that consisted of Shrimp Cocktail Shooters, Lamb Chops, and Mini Filet Sliders followed by the Soup of the Day and a choice of salad. The main course included a choice of: Surf & Turf, Coach's Famous Pork Chops, Chicken Parmesan, or Cashew-Crusted Tilapia. Dinner was followed by a selection of delicious desserts, including Banana Cream Pie, Chocolate Mousse and Key Lime Pie. Guests also enjoyed a full service bar which featured top-shelf cocktails, as well as Ditka’s namesake wine.
Guests had a great time laughing and joking with Coach Ditka and his wife Diana throughout the night as they shared stories about the past and talked about this upcoming NFL season. Guests also enjoyed receiving autographs and taking pictures with ‘Da Coach’!

The dinner took place in an intimate and personal setting composed of only 22 guests, giving every person a chance to mingle and talk one-on-one with Coach Ditka and his wife.
Guests were treated to a wonderful four course meal that was first presented to them on their own personalized menus, which most had signed by Coach Ditka! Throughout the night guests dined on Shrimp Cocktail Shooters, Lamb Chops, and Mini Filet Sliders followed by the Soup of the Day and a choice of salad. The main course included a choice of: Surf & Turf, Coach's Famous Pork Chops, Chicken Parmesan, or Cashew-Crusted Tilapia. Tips for Your Next Disney Vacation
Looking for a few tips to make your next Disney vacation go a little smoother?
1. Stay at a hotel that offers a free shuttle service
To avoid the hassles of driving around the Disney Parks and having to find parking, stay at a hotel that offers a free shuttle. It will make the start and end of your day go smoother. Plus, you won’t have to pay expensive parking fees!
2. Bring Your own staples
Plan ahead by bringing the regular staples that cost a lot more at the park, especially your own sunscreen, hats, film and batteries! Be sure that you don't forget those extra camera batteries. Also, wear comfortable shoes and bring a change of clothes (at least a t-shirt) for everyone.
3. Begin at the back of the park
It's a known fact that people will stop at the first attraction they reach so start at the back and work forward. Leave the shows and indoor attractions for the hottest part of the day when you'll appreciate the cool air conditioning.
4. Take a break
A full day at a Disney Park can take a great deal of energy. You'll find that the day will be more enjoyable if you leave the park at midday to recharge your batteries with a short nap or dip in the hotel pool. Guests at Mike Ditka Resorts had a wonderful time this past Memorial Day weekend. Guests cooled off by swimming in the resort’s tropical themed pools, enjoyed daily drink specials from the tiki bar overlooking the scenic lagoon, and relaxed at night while enjoying our nightly “dive in” movie!

Be sure you don’t miss our poolside “dive in” movies! Our “dive in” movies are shown nightly in the pool area. Enjoy your night relaxing with your family while enjoying a ‘favorite’ kid friendly movie.

We Attended Pow Wow
Sales Manager Sina Kilbourne recently made Mike Ditka Resorts big debut at the 2010 Orlando International Pow Wow held at the Orange County Convention Center May 15-19th, 2010.
The International Pow Wow is the travel industry’s premier international marketplace and the largest generator of Visit USA travel. This year’s event included more than 1,000 U.S. travel organizations from every region of the USA with as well as close to 1,500 International and Domestic buyers from more than 70 countries!
Mike Ditka Resorts booth featured a “Spin to Win” wheel, offering qualified travel buyers the chance to win top prizes such as an official Mike Ditka Jersey, a two night stay at the resort or an autographed bottle of Mike Ditka brand wine.
This was huge event where Sina was given the opportunity to meet with International travel buyers one on one. Sina met with some top producing players in the Wholesale market such as Virgin Holidays, Tourico Holidays, Florida Travel Network and American Tours International just to name a few, and all had a great interest in partnering with our resort!
This was truly a great opportunity to launch our property as a new supplier to the International travel industry and we look forward to seeing our occupancy increase from these new accounts!

Quick Tips for Your Next Florida Vacation
Packing
· For younger kids, put their shirt, pants, socks, and underwear together in a Ziploc bag- it makes choosing what to wear much easier!
· Don't forget to bring your camera, as well as your charger and an extra memory card. Florida is filled with many photo opportunities you will not want to miss.
Traveling
· Make a stop at your local dollar store before your trip and buy some cheap toys, coloring books, books, etc and use them as rewards or entertainment during your travels. Offer the new toys in increments that will last you the length of your trip. It's a lot of fun, and they have all new stuff to use on their vacation.

· Plan on spending time at the theme parks? Walk to the furthest point from the entrance and work your way back to avoid the lines. If the ride/show has two lines choose the left. Most people automatically go to the right.
